WHY DO I LIKE NPL & NPLSA
Why do I like NPL???
Well I've said it on a number of occations before but obviously it needs to be said on an individual post.
So people here I go again and as usual it's not a short one but I think it's a good starter for the rest of you PUNTERS.
If it wasn't for NPL I would be sitting at home either playing No Limit Holdem online or sitting in my recliner watching the telly with one eye open.
I definately would never have met and played poker against some great people I now call my friends. The likes of guys and girls at the Gardens, Jerry whose wife works with mine so we have dinner with their family every Wednesday nite. Then there's Mark, Alan, Dave, Johnny K, Jane, Michelle, Bloody Joe, Michael B and Tim our TD and heaps more.
At Para Hills I dine with the following every week. Bill J, Carol J, Betty J, Steve B, Audry B & daughter Rebecca. PLus some others like Tony, Maria Anthony and a whole lot more. Not to forget our great TD Dakoda. I really want to know how he finds the time to spend with young Sammy, nobody knows.
Plus, I would never had joined either of these Community Clubs if it wasn't for NPL.
Now, Roulettes has had some wonderful memories for me, LOL. It seems like a haven for arguements. Or someone stupid enough to go through the mucked cards looking for what I had just layed down. But there are some good guys and gals there too. Most of the above people plus Tracey, Terry, Michael, etc and the infamous Enzo the magnificent.
Now there's one lot I haven't mention and they are so bonded they could be all joined at the hip. This is a group of youngsters that have been more than happy to call my poker buddies.
the funniest girl on the planet, "don't raise my big blind Sou" and her sister Air, Deno, and Mark. These guys are inseperable and go to all of the above venues and then some.
Parafield flying Club has just started and most of us are trying to support those guys. They are bending over backwards trying to make it a must go to club. They have a $1.00 bounty on every player which you can accumulate and spend at the bar.
They also listened to peoples drinking preferences and made price changes so stamping was easier. Above all they are always open to suggestions. Next week first prize is a solo flight (with a pilot) LOL over the Northern area value at around $120.00.
Plus all the Punters received a $5.00 voucher for next week toi spend at the bar. Seems to me they are setting a great standard for some of the more wealthier venues to match. Get off your proverbials and support these guys.
Why do I like NPLSA???
This should be short and sweet, "hopefully", LOL. I not only like the forum I love it!!!!! It gives the PUNTERS, STAFF and MANAGEMENT a chance to have a say and make some good and sometimes bad decisions relating to the NPL.
However, if it's too bad we have guys monitoring the site at all times. Sometimes the crap gets through and sometimes it doesn't. However, it does give us a place to air our views and sometime, and I did say sometimes, the "Punters and Management" don't always get it right.
It would would be nice if we all lived in this perfect world where everything was smelling like roses, but that ain't gonna happen. So what's good about it??
As you may be aware I like to be in on everything. I was a "need to know ideas man" before retiring and I finding it hard to just sit back and let things just slip by the keeper. I'm like a dog and when I see a bone I want to chew on it a little, LOL.
I think it's a great place for those who just want to read the various posts and may pick up some ideas that may help their game. Or a question they would have liked to ask but didn't feel comfortable in case they get a bad response.
There's even a how to make a card table on here for those who are handy with wood.
What else do I like?
I like some of the comment and the guys who write them.
I like replying to their Posts and them replying to mine.
I like constructive critisism but I despise bullying.
I think I just like NPLSA coz it gives me another avenue to keep my mind and my typing skills up to date. NPLSA is totally different to most Forums. Other forums are usually about their cars and pics of them and also a buy and sell and how can I fix this or do that type of Forum.
NPLSA is about competing and they don't really compare to a Poker site. There are some jealous buggas and trouble makers out there. Again we have our monitors who usually remove an item or subject before it is seen.
Most of us who read or write on NPLSA are after the same thing. We want somewhere to chat and maybe offer ideas and or suggestions to the NPL. Hopefully to help improve conditions regarding new events or respond to other NPLSA Posters.
If I've left anything out I'll add to it later but for now that's it. Cheers Guys & Gals and what out for those felt burns when you rake in the chips, regards Bob B
I LUV NPLSA
