You're a Bunch of Factors

Just for my own interest what does everyone like to listen to while playing poker. I have an weird mix that I listen to which helps me focus and wondered if others do the same. I only do this online although I have started borrowing my sons i phone in venue occasionally and have found this helps me focus more and control my nerves .

My list at the moment is

Usually mix it up with some fast songs and some slow songs, to keep me motivated and also to get me pumped if i do have to change gears. Also helps if i can sing along to it and keep my attention.

So do I but one of my downfalls at the table is that I talk too much if I am comfortable and give away huge tells. And when I dont know anyone or am getting very nervous I tend to loose all confidence and play really passive and bad cards. I have tried the music a couple of times live and it did help me focus and gain control. I always try to have music when I play online though and anyone who has sat at my table will tell you I tend to chat a lot online. I just thought it would be interesting to hear what, if anything, other players listen to while playing.

Yeah i always have music going when im playing online, helps the concentration heaps. But i don't really get people who bring an ipod to a 3 hour pub game, if you can't conentrate for that long you have issues, and the whole reason i go to my 3 hour pub game is to talk to people.

Wear an ipod for the 14 hour slog of a grand final by all means, but dont at a pub game i say

(krunchie will have a comeback here i know it, but meh - he knows how i feel about his ipod )

I listen to a variety, but usually the same style at one time.

Sometimes old jazz, or blues
Other times all hard metal.
