Opposition league and their stunning blinds

It's 40 minutes to my nearest NPL league so when my local decided to run a tourny for an opposition league I gave it a go (3 minute walk!).

No names but if you've played it before you'll know who it is -
I arrive on time and play on table 1 - nobody else is playing; when we have 3 players left the table is stopped and the 3 winners go onto the final table.
Then table 2 started with a few late stragglers and LOSERS of table 1!? This went on until they had 3 players left.
An hour later table 3 started with, again, late stragglers and LOSERS of the previous 2 tables. Again 3 players left.
One of the reasons for this is we must have an official dealer on each table and there was only 1 of them.

So the 9 of us that had won our table went to the 'Final table' - this started 4 hours after the tourny officially started. All the players started with the amount that they had when they were on their tables - so I had $2k (smallest stack, average stack was $4k), the blinds started at $500/$1,000 which meant I was going to be playing very tight.
First hand I get is 46o - fold, 2nd hand was 72o - fold, 3rd hand I was on the Big blind so I put my $1k blind in - but the dealer told me it was now $1k/$2k!!
HUH?!? I said, to which she told me that blinds go up every SIX(6) minutes on the final table!!!!!! I'm stunned but put my other $1k in, my cards were 75o so I'm out.

That stank and I'm not going back.

But it did get me thinking though; 6 minute blinds really does bring luck into the game as it doesn't really give time to play a decent hands. Out of the 3 hands I got there wasn't one picture card :(
I'll stick with 20 minute blinds thanks :)

I'm sure no one would complain if you said who and where this was, I'm intrigued to hear more.

pubpoker.net.au sponsored by full tilt poker - winner of the grand final goes to Aussie Millions.

Footnote - in the fine print it states that if you play pub poker then Full Tilt will be your sponsor for two years; doesn't say that Full Tilt will pay to be your sponsor - seems to me that Full tilt will be your sponsor because they gave you free pub poker.
Interesting wording of the fine print.

Table structure sucked - tourny started at 8pm, final table at 11.30pm and I got to bed at 12.05 -> Don't like it and wont' be playing again.

I haven't seen that, will keep an eye out for it.
Another reason though why 888PL is the best.
