Dream Team Race - Kleemann Under Attack

With less than a week remaining in Season 1 of the new and improved 888PL, the top 5 positions** look anything but settled.

Mike "BionicMike" Raines, who has "slow played" the leaderboard as royalroutine puts it, supercharges his average to 224, a mere 5 points behind Aaron Kleemann who has had a stranglehold on the first position since the season began.

Given Mike's recent results, Aaron will have to get some scores in or will almost certainly be demoted to second. This could prove difficult as Aaron's 888 account has been locked for some days now.

George "Octawebb" Webb improved his average very slightly and will hit third position on the DT leaderboard after he completes one more away game. He is 5 points clear of Leigh "ROYTRUDGEY" Trudgeon who sits in 4th.

A measly .05 separates 5th and 6th with Liam "lsd_910" Donoghue in 5th overtaking the "nplking", the only player in the top 10 who has not had a big score in a GF Qualifier.

Gayle "QueenofTarts" Andrews improved to 194 ahead of Carmine "royalroutine" De Sciscio and Jo "JMACK007" McDonald who both sit on 188.

Forum regular and anti-GF Qualifier campaigner, Ben McDonald sits in 12th place.

**I am using the Home Scoreboard positions as this is the best indicator of what the final DT scoreboard will look like once players get their 10 away games in.

:!: Thanks to Brett for updating! :!:

Plus you are missing Mustapha Wahab. Done well in a few large away fields and also doing semi decently online as well.

Game on! My work has suffered as a result of the ridiculous amount of poker I have played in the last 3 weeks and I've told em they won't see much of me this week!

All I really want is to go to Adelaide for the GF!

I now have four 2nd places in GF qualifiers and or satelites.....How bad do I suck under pressure???!!!

I noticed Dream Team presentations are being held in Adelaide ( by Warney!) Anyone know if Dream Team qualification gets you a ticket to the GF or at least travel expenses to Adelaide?

I doubt it Mike. You can of course use the money you get from DT to buy-in and purchase flights and accom and what not.

I just wanted to make a quick note as well about the Dream Team. I know that on the balance of the probabilities, I will not make the Dream Team.

I need a score of 160 or more to improve my average while lsd_091 needs any score above 92 to improve and is already ahead of me.

I think benny the cunt and others have touched on this in the past but I feel that the GF Qualifiers should not be counted towards the Dream Team averages. Garth has made a number of points on why he thinks these scores should count which essentially comes to down to the fact that people who do well in large field tournaments deserve to get points based on the number of people they beat.

The flaw in Garth's argument is that he assumes that all players who reg for the GF Qualifiers actually play which is far from the truth. The GF Qualifiers are open for registration as soon as it is listed in the lobby, usually a week before the event.

As it has no cap, I would say at least 25-40% pre-register and do not play which boosts the number of players and consequently the points available. In effect it's like having a 200 runner game with double points. So a player who wins a GF Qualifier can do just as well as someone who wins a 200-runner game and get a massive boost in points.

There's nothing that I or anyone for that matter can say or do that will change anything. I personally feel that my results (and the results of a few people below me) justify a position on the Dream Team but this is now very unlikely.

Whatever the case good luck to those who do make it to the Dream Team.

Don't forget that a true DT scoreboard should have equal, or near enough to, representation of both home and away events. So all the current discussion is moot.
