While trying to help AK sort this out, I had probs downloading the setup file from the FTP website. Not all of the file came through, so it gave garbage error messages and crashed. My download manager reported file as 32.1Mb, but kept stopping at 60-98%, so i bypassed and used the firefox builtin download manager, which completed, but the file was only like 17.9Mb, hence the problem decompressing the archive. (AK told me his setup file was only about 1.5Mb!!!)
A quick search and look around on 2p2, I found a link where someone had 'rehosted' the setup file, and i could download it fine from there. Still needed an update (it was from 8th July 09), but that was no problem. If anyone is having problems downloading, here is the link:
http://drop.io/acnr8vm/asset/fulltiltsetup-exeAlso, this site supports multile connections and pause/resume of downloads, which FTP doesnt (why tf not?)
Also mentioned in some 2p2 threads was problems downloading the update, seems FTP's servers get choked when there is an update (again ridiculous for such a massive online company), but a) Ive not had such problems and b) 2p2 forumer's answers were always: try a few times and it finally completes downloading the update.
I personally didnt have any probs before, only when trying to download/install the new software directly from FTP's website again, but the above link solved that....
Hope this helps someone...
