So what were the key hands?
The last 2 hands gave me a huge advantage. We were down to 3 runners and the 2nd last hand with blinds at $5k/$10k.
I was chip leader with $97k in SB and BB had $73k and dealer around $34k. I look down at pocket 7's dealer folds and I raise to $30k BB shoves ALLIN I called.
He shows A10o flop comes K72, hitting trip 7's turn was an Ace river a ten.
Heads up and I'm in a great position chip wise and if I lost it from here I was gonna give up poker for life. Well not really life but you know what I mean.
Sitting on $170k to a $63K stack doesn't allow you much if he DU on me it's a new ball game. He was already in for $10k and I thought if he has anything respectable he's gonna shove. I get Qs 9c and just call to see what he's gonna do. He just checked so I put him on crap cards or wanted to see the flop b4 betting.
Flop comes 9h 2s 4s I've hit my nine he checks, I check, now a 10s on the turn making a flush draw that looks a bit scary to me but I have the Qs so if he's drawing I have a chance too.
But he checked to me again, so I bet $20k and he goes allin for almost $24k I called. He turns over 10h 6c obviously thinking the tens were good. The river came a 9d and I had tripped up on the nines for the win.
It felt so good to get one under the belt. And having that extra support on the rails helped to spur me on that little bit more throughout the final table.
If I remember who they were I'll say thanks LOL.
