Heres my unedited news report of the main event final table.

With a little over 400+ runners for our farewell Main Event for the NPL’s Championship weekend, 11 players have battle there way to our 11 handed Final Table. The Final Table was seated as such:

Seat 1 – Brian Gibbins, our chip leader with 458K from The Emu Hotel (Metro South)
Seat 2 – Tin Nguyen, with 173K in chips from Whitehorse Hotel (Metro North)
Seat 3 – Rebekah Promnitz, with 108K in chips from Bentleys Hotel (B&G)
Seat 4 – Chris Engelhardt, with 30K in chips from The Port Club (Metro North West)
Seat 5 – Kyle Hanegraaf, with 180K in chips from The Maid of Auckland(Metro South)
Seat 6 – Ben MacDonald, with 175K in chips having qualified via FTT event (B&G)
Seat 7 – Wayne Jones, with 313K in chips from The Flagstaff Hotel (Metro South)
Seat 8 – Michael Adlam, our short stack with 16K from The Emu Hotel (Metro South)
Seat 9 – Rick Trevillian, with 395K in chips from The Aussie Inn (Metro South)
Seat 10 – Wayne Twigdem, with 135K in chips from Parafield Gardens (Metro North)
Seat 11 – Jamie Deans, with 56K in chips from The Queens Arms Hotel (CBD)

With our final table getting under the way at 10:15pm, the blinds for the start of final table, started at 10K/20K with a 2K ante.

The Action started very first hand when Chris Engelhardt from under the gun declared all-in with his last 28K, when he looked down and spotted a Ace High, [Ad] [7c] With the action folded around to our short stack at the table Michael Adlam, [2s] [2h] was too good to pass and made the call all-in for just his last 14K. With only 8K more to call out of the big blind, Rebekah Promnitz made the call, showing [Ah] [Qh] suited.

Flop came: [Qc] [Jh] [4h]

With top pair and top flush draw, Rebekah was miles in front and was basically avoiding one of Michaels 2’s, the board bricked out with a [5d] & [6d], and sent 2 players to the rail first hand.

Michael Adlam finshing 11th place, and also claiming the $1000 venue bonus for last standing venue winner. Chris Engelhardt, claiming 10th place.

On the very next hand Rebekah Promnitz showed force to the table by raising 50K out of the small blind and getting the big blind to fold. Rebekah showed the [Qc] [10c] suited.

Hand 3 produced a bit action when Wayne Jones & Brian limped in a pot with the blinds.

Flop came: [8d] [7d] [4d]

Kyle made a play at the pot by betting 20K, but was raised by Wayne for another 20K. Kyle makes the call with the turn card bring the 3 of spades.
Checking to see what Wayne would do, Kyle folded to Wayne’s 40K bet.

5 Hands in, and huge action by Ben MacDonald, when folded to him on the button he pushed his entire 120K stack in the middle with the [2d] [2c]. Ben was however called by both Wayne Jones and Rick Trevillian in the blinds.

Flop came: [Kc] [9d] [8h]

Wayne checks, and Rick moves all-in for 265K. Wayne makes the call and creates a half million dollar side pot.

Cards are rolled with Rick showing his [Kh] [Qd] ahead of Wayne’s [Ad] [Jh].

Amazingly the turn produces the [2h] for Ben, and then the [Ah] for Wayne. Ben takes the main pot and triples up his stack, while Wayne takes the haft a million dollar side pot.

Rick Trevillian finishing 9th.

Hand 6 and the action keeps coming thick and fast. Jamie Deans pushing all-in from under the gun with 44K, and is called by Rebekah, but Kyle also goes all-in over the top for 88K. Rebekah makes the call.

Jamie: [Ah] [Qd]
Kyle: [Ks] [Kh]
Rebekah: [As] [10s]

Flop comes: [10d] [7s] [7c]

Kyle’s pocket kings look good to ship the lot, till the turn came the [2s] giving Rebekah the flush draw, and making Kyle sweat the river. However the river misses everyone bring the [Jd]

Jamie Deans out in 8th place.

7 left for our 7th hand, and blinds are up to 15K/30K with a 3K ante. This doesn’t stop an already action packed final table. Tin Nguyen under the gun declares all-in for 148K and runs into Brian Gibbins [Ac] [Js] from the big blind.

Tin in trouble showing [Ah] [7d] looking for one of 3 7’s in the deck.

Alas the board bricks out with: [Kh] [3d] [2c] [8d] [2s]

Tin Nguyen is out in 7th place.

Hand 11 produces yet another beauty. Rebekah declares all-in for 45K, but is re-raised all-in over the top by Kyle for 312K. Big blind tanks and makes the call to create yet another haft a million side pot.

Rebekah shows [2d] [2h] in front over the big slick of Kyle’s [Ah] [Kc] & Wayne’s [Ks] [Qs]. Dodging a lot of cards in the deck, the flop contains an ace and 2 spades leaving Rebekah with a 1 outer draw looking for the 2 of clubs. Close with the 3 of clubs hitting the turn, the board bricks for Wayne and Rebekah.

[Ac] [Js] [9s] [3c] [7h]

Rebekah Promnitz is out in 6th place and is our final lady standing.

Hand 15 proves to deciding hand, when Brian limps into a pot with the blinds.

Flop comes [7c] [7d] [5c]

Small and big blinds check down to Brian who fires in a 100K bet. Only Ben MacDonald in the small blind instantly declares all-in. Big blind gets out of way, and Brain Gibbins calls, and creates a 737K pot.

benny the cunt tables the [5h] [10h], and Brian shows [Ac] [10c] looking for a club or an ace.

Brian can’t hit when the turn comes [Jd] and rivers shows the [8h]. benny the cunt ships a massive pot and becomes the new chip leader.

The next 7 hands become a series of all-in and folds, or walks for our big blind as the final 5 grid it out.

Players return from our final break with new blinds of 20K/40K with a 5K ante. This creates action very first hand of hand 22 when Wayne Jones pushes all-in for 181K. Wayne Twigdem in the big blind makes the call for his remaining chips, and shows what have shown up many times already on this final table, Pocket 2’s. In a classic race Wayne Jones produces [Ad] [Ks] and the flop only keeps the ducks in front, but flop is paired.

Board comes, [9s] [6h] [9c] [7c] [6c] and Wayne Twigdem with [2c] [2h] is counterfeited, and out in 5th place.

Very next hand, Wayne Jones moves all-in from the button with 205K, and is called down by Brian in the big blind. Wayne rolls [Qc] [Qd] and is dominating Brian’s [Qs] [7d]

Board comes out with Case Queen and leaves Brian with just 10K remaining.

[Qh] [10d] [5d] [Ad] [9c]

Hand 24, and Brian Gibbins is all-in for 5K in the small blind. Ben MacDonald from under the gun limps into the pot, leaving the big blind to check.

Flop comes, [10c] [8h] [Kc]

Both Kyle and Ben check.

Turn Ks, and Ben bets Kyle out with a 50K bet.

Ben shows [Ac] [8d] vs Brian’s [8d] [7c], and is drawing dead, even with a hit of 7s on the river. Brian Gibbins is eliminated in 4th place.

Hand 25 and down to 3, Wayne from under the gun limps in, but finds benny the cunt pushing all-in from the big blind. Wayne with all of his chips on the line calls.

Ben shows [Ad] [10h].
Wayne shows [Js] [7s].

Board comes [Qh] [Kc] [9s] [Kh] [6d]

Needing to complete a gut shot from the flop but missing, Wayne Jones is out in 3rd place.

Down to heads up

benny the cunt MacDonald, 1.25 million in chips vs Kyle with 780K.

Hand 28 sees Ben in the small blind just calling the big blind. Kyle tanks and declares all-in. benny the cunt jumps out of his chair and calls pumping the air. benny the cunt slams down [Ah] [Ac] up against Kyle’s [6s] [6h]. Dodging a 6 to win the main event the board comes,

[Kd] [2s] [10d] [4c] [5h]

Kyle Hanegraaf is out and is our Runner Up in 2nd place.

Ben MacDonald has won the Season 2 NPL Main Event in our Championship weekend.

Congratulations to all our players who have cashed over this long weekend.
