being both an electronics engineer and a mad poker player, this has to be about the best thing that anyone has ever created!!!
rfid tags to track the cards is a brilliant way of doing it - minor downside is the extra card thickness
i would LOVE to do this to my table some day, or copy his design

I've seen Andy Bloch blog before on having RFID in chips, but the cards idea is fantastic.

to be honest, im not sure. all of the rfid stuff is commercially available.
the software would have been the hard bit i reckon
