I am trying to learn how to play Sit & Gos at the moment.
To be honest I am not sure I understand the difference between them and Tournaments.
Anyway, I am finding I get a starting stack of $100 and blind levels going up every 5 mins, but I just don't get anywhere.
Should I be playing like I would if I was playing heads up? One picture card and push? Or should I be playing tight?
I would appreciate any help.

Here's some great links from 2+2, JJ. Most of them serve as intro articles so they won't be that hard to follow.

I would have a look at your choice of sng's jj
a $100 starting stack and 5 minute blinds sounds like a super turbo
try to find some with a larger starting stack, 888 ones i have played are around 1200-1500 gives you a bit more time.
Also for a start try some 6 handed sng's or at max 9 handed.
Just untill you find your feet.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Re: Playing online Sit & Go
Sit n go's - Single table tournaments normally with 9-10 runners, with top 3 being paid. Sit n go's can have 9, 18, 45 or 90 runners. Anything with larger runners is normally classified as a MTT (multi table tournament). The only difference between STTs and MTTs are larger fields, and generally, larger prizepools with a slower/deeper structure.
Hope that helps.

Re: Playing online Sit & Go
Playing sit n go's Single tables. Are a lot harder then your normal tournaments due to no new money coming into the table, and with the blinds still going up you have to take risks to get anywhere.
Most SnG start off at a cheap level e.g. 10/20 or 15/30. Compared to your start stack means you should be starting off an M of between 50 and 75. If you are starting $100 stacks you are playing superturbos, which become pretty painful pretty quickly and require a lot of luck.
Due to the inherent nature of sit'n'go's sometimes you can't get solid ideas of players hands, but you can capitalise on the mistakes that these same people will make on your hands in reference to calling it down.
In the first few levels. try and play position and solid hands. top 10%. Main reason for this is with a large M of 50-75 you don't have to do anything stupid. Find a good spot. If you play too many hands in this level, the chip leaders can call you down and easily gamble against you.
Once you start getting to the 25/50, 50/100, 75/150 levels. Have a look at the stacks around you. If you have the big stack to your left. Then you are going to be wary about which hands you are pushing all in with. If you raise preflop and they reraise your hand, you want something solid to back it up with. However these are the levels that you can pick up orphaned pots with a continuation bet on the flop, or check then bet on the turn. Most times you are picking up 4-5 bbs, which takes it away from the others.
At the 100/200, 200/400, 300/600 Levels, This is where you want to have a significant stack, so that you are not relying on your luck, but are also able to pick off some of the short stacks so that you can increase your stack, whilst reducing table numbers. Sometimes, it is only an extra 100-400 to call them down, and it really is coinflip territory. If you fold, they double their stack and can do a redouble sooner rather than later when they are chipped down.
Once 300/600, 500/1000 are up, you are usually in push mode. Usually a total of 10-15 bbs on the table spread over 2-3 people, So defend blinds with decent hands, and don't be afraid to push with an Ace vs their rags.
Obviously there is a lot more, and this is only my brief, i play very aggressive, 100/200 is my worst level. Depending on blind speeds as well, e.g 3mins vs 5mins vs 15 mins, Means you can wait a bit longer or have to open your hand range a lot earlier.
Hope it helps caroline. Wrote it on the fly, so any points you want clarified let me know.
