So hearing benny the cunt and Garth go on about their perfect tournament structure got me thinking. What would be your favourite structure? Deepstacks are a great thing. I don't need 20,000 with 60min levels, but I do like to have a bit of breathing room (read: NPL state finals 5k stack, relaxed levels) I hate turbo's with a passion - the only time I feel like playing a turbo is when I'm drunk. And I'm normally in one of those "I must win every pot" moods. Anyway;
My ideal tourny:
- 7,500 start stack.
- 40 min levels.
- Large field.
- ANTE'S!!!!!!!
That would be good fun. Enough chips to pull of a few unsuccessful bluffs and still be alive. Time to pick your spots. I like large fields because a lot of the weaker players drop out early.
Cash games or tournaments? I enjoy both, don't really have a favourite over the other. Cash games are great fun because there is more room for moves, and if you bust you can easily rebuy and make your money back in a few hands. It also makes players a lot more protective of their money.
MTT's are enjoyable though, as there is NOTHING better than going deep in a tournament. Decisions get so much harder, play gets better, and a LOT more thought is put into each move. I would like to get into learning the in's and out's of cash games though, over the long run it is a lot more profitable than MTT's (I think I'm a better cash game player than I am an MTT player anyway). STT's can get boring, quite easily.

Same but with bounties. I like the idea of getting rewarded for out-playing someone and putting them on the rail.

live: 10K start stack, 30 or 40 min levels, antes, pretty much the same as what aaron described
online: 15 minute levels, 2K start stack. pokerstars levels are better in my opinion - antes introduced earlier, but blinds more relaxed - a good situation for aggressive players.
