It's another six-max game online, and in this hand an aggressive player raises to $7 from the cut-off, and you elect to call on the button. Both blinds fold. The flop comes [5c] [6s] [Kh]. The cut-off bets $12

What should you do? Fold? Call? Raise?

my first instinct is that he's not hit that board, and is trying to bet u off.

I would be folding, because i can wait for a better spot.

Online, this hand would hit runner runner flush though

i would probably say that you can pick better spots there - if you raise and he calls, you are in a lot of trouble, and are going to need an 8 or runner runner hearts

its a tough one though, because if you flat call and spike your 8, then there are probably implied odds as your opponent probably doesnt put you on 79 as you called a raise.

also, if he is standard c-betting, he will most probably slow down on the turn if you call,, so a call then raise on the turn might be good enough to take it down if he has anything less than a strong K

so i would say that either fold and pick a better spot, or call and then raise the turn, which should see him fold anything less than a strong King

My first reaction is to chuck it away.

Gee it hard I hate trying to draw a gut shot straight but, being that he/she has been an aggressive player, a flat call is not too much of a drain on your stack to see the turn card, you wont be in a world of pain if you dont hit, but the outs are good for a turn call.

I would fold.

Playing against an agro player this hand will cost you a lot more money on later streets unless you do hit that magical 8.

I would possibly call the flop 25% of the time and see what the turn brings. If he checks behind it still doesn't mean he is weak as he could be pot controlling with AK, KQ, KJ etc...

Call. You have a gut-shot and a backdoor flush draw. Also, your opponent is aggressive and is likely c-betting this flop with his entire range. You can call in position with your gut-shot, backdoor flush draw, and also add a float to your equity pool. If your opponent checks the turn, don't be afraid to take the pot away from him with a bet.
