So wish I was there, even just to watch and soak in the atmosphere.
If I feel up to it I might post some updates on here. Might keep my mind off other things

Would love to see a few pro's on the final table and no Jerry Yang's or Jamie Gold's.

Excuse my ignorance, but what was wrong with Yang's play? I ask 'cause this isn't the first time I've seen someone mention it wasn't so good.
What I saw seemed fine, but I didn't see that much.

I think it's fair to say that anyone on the final table has had their fair share of luck throughout the tourney

Bugger the main event.
I truly wish i was there to watch the 50k HORSE final 3 tables.
As much as i am going to regret saying this. Everybody be prepared for a lot of new fish on the poker tables online.
A lot of pro's cashing and final tabling these ESPN events will make for a few people coming back to the fold.
I think it wasn't Jerrys Play that they were voicing their opinion over. It was more the religious related stuff. Honestly. If god played poker with you, i sure as hell expect him to bluff. And sweat it out with the rest of us.

Mind you haven't gotten that far on the 2007 WSOP. Got stuck watching Friday Night Lights LOL

From
http://www.pokerlistings.com"As the tournament progresses, the concentration of clueless players may decrease but for now, there still appears to be more than a fair smattering of them peppering the tournament.
This hand is a prime example.
Woody Deck was involved and after some thought, he called an opponent's all-in on the river of a Kd 7h 3d Jd 7d board.
Deck showed down pocket Aces including the Ad for the nut flush. His opponent however had forgotten to bring along his Poker For Dummies book as he tabled A-7 for trip sevens before punching the air in delight at having "won" the pot.
One remedial poker lesson from the table later and the player was sent baffled away from the table, an expensive lesson that a flush beats trips learnt."

Only one man (or woman) can pick up the dubious honor of being the first elimination from the World Series Main Event. This early departure is likely to be heartbreaking, painful and perhaps a little humiliating but at least they will have their moment in the sun as the media swoop to break their story across the globe.
Well, we have our man, though apparently he was not keen on recounting his story to the media, having skedaddled to skulk in the shadows following his early bust-out.
We have the story of this tragic hero though, as related by a player at his table.
Allegedly, there was a raise pre-flop and a flat-call.
The board came 2-3-6 and there was a bet, a raise and a push, if you can believe that, for his entire $20,000 stack. And then a call!!!
Wow.
With $20,000 in chips, a deep structure and lots of play, no doubt you'd be expecting some nut or close-to-nut hands to be shown down.
Well, you'd be surprised!
4-5 for the straight? Er, no.
6-6 for top set? Er, no.
Kings vs. aces? Well nearly ...
In fact it was aces versus JACKS! Yes; one player decided to wantonly throw his tournament life onto the fire, holding nothing more than a small overpair of jacks, and naturally he ran into a bigger hand.
Poker is a cruel mistress though and the guy with aces was the one to suffer, as a jack spiked on the river to cut his tournament cruelly short. This beat no doubt explained his hasty departure from the scene, while the man with jacks lives on, doubled up and our next Main Event Champion in the making perhaps?
