so its midday sat to midday sunday?

i like it. that way, there will be some people that will come after sport or whatever, at night time, and it should keep the tables full

Yeah, definitely easier to keep tables full this way too.

That's because a bet in the dark from UTG and a straddle are two completely different things.

As I explained previously, a straddle is a third blind added to the game and is optional for the UTG player.

I really get annoyed with players who call a bet in the dark from UTG pre flop a straddle, simply because it isn't a straddle.
But you have cleared it up for me, obviously you were unaware of what a real straddle was.

I still don't really understand what you were asking Garth.

How I always thought it to be:

Straddle is 2xBB, posted by UTG. We play it as a live straddle, so the straddle is the last person to act preflop. We never called it a bet in the dark.

Bet in the dark is a a bet made dark, I don't think there have been any instances of them in my home game/cash games I've played in. We've used it a few times in tournaments, mainly 888pl.

Garth's point is that even though you are banning live straddles, someone can still put a bet in the dark there (same as a straddle amount or otherwise), except that they can't act last.. simple as that.

You can stop people putting a 2BB bet in and acting last, but you can't stop someone putting a 2BB bet in and not playing last.

Ahh.

I never said straddles would be banned, just that if it was going to happen, it'd be organised. I didn't want players randomly straddling, then no one does for 17 hands and someone has the urge again so they throw a straddle out. It will be per orbit, if the table agrees to it.

Ok apparently it hasn't sent yet, but I just got the "forget to add" second, smaller msg I sent about the MQF clash in my inbox, so the larger detailed msg should be there soon.

looks good man. im looking forward to this. hope the girlfriend doesnt come up with somekind of unscheduled event between now and then.

when you say 'random seating' does that mean it will be assigned randomly? (casino style)
or random by the fact that people are free to move between open spots on tables as they choose? (online style)

I personally would like to option to move (with some notice or whatever) to play against different people if the need be.
