8 game will not be happening simply for the fact that I will never get enough players up for it. I cannot think of anyone else invited that will be up for it, except Gareth.
If you guys come down and want to start your own table of 8 game (provided it doesn't kill the other table/leave us short handed) then go right ahead. But at most this will be HA, possibly dealers choice if we can wrangle enough. It has been advertised as a NLHE game and even the fact that PLO will be added is going to upset people.

An option might be to set up the game like a casino might set up their room.
Table one: 6 max 10/25 HA (or just PLO)
Table two: 9 max 10/25 HE
Table three: 6 max 25/50 HE
(crazy idea: 10/25 HE heads up games - can play two of these on an oval table)
Players are free to move between tables of their choice. If a particular table is full at any one time, then players can add their name to a waiting list (people can nominate which game they would like to start at before the 24hrs commences), and if a particular waiting list is large enough, another table could be opened (e.g. another 6 max 25/50). As in online games, there might only be four people on a table for a few hours or whatever - its the players who decide if they want to stay there or not.
By designating each table a certain game, then players have the choice to play whatever they want, for however long they want, so nobody will complain. Players can transfer their chips from table to table if they want, but obv can only play the table max if they move. It will help players motivation to play against different people every few hours and perhaps different variants also.
Ill be there regardless, im pumped for this already, but i reckon the above might be a good way to run it - provided of course you have room for 3-4 tables.

I don't think we need to contemplate Aaron's idea.
If he doesn't want to spread a particular type of game then that's fine.
He doesn't need to put another table in simply because the more experienced players wish to test themselves or create some different action, personally I just prefer a bit of variety and would like to start playing something other then PLO or NLHE in home games; this was the only reason I bought it up as I thought Scott, Dave, Nathan, Andrew, Glyn, Andre and a few others might be willing to get a game going that we haven't played in the home environment before.
BTW 2-7 triple draw is the bomb!

How about including a couple of variants of Draw Poker.
ie Short Deck ( 7's up) Jackpot Poker (6 Max) Or Blind Poker.

How about a table for Pharoah?
Or Baccarat?
Or high card for shots?
Seriously guys, keep it simple.
2 tables max. 1 NLHE, 1 for other variants, be it HA, PLO, HORSE, 8-Game, whatever. But no more than that.
You won't get the runners otherwise. And no 6max. 10-max for NLHE, 8-max for the rest. Keep it simply. Unless of course you guys are the ones who want to run the night and maintain order throughout.

Question:
A straddle is a third blind posted by UTG which means they act last preflop; so it would be 25/50/1 in a live straddle game and it is optional.
Betting out in the dark is not illegal and UTG has every right to do so whether he has seen the hole cards or not.
I just want the above clarified because we do play with straddles but I will quite often lead in the dark in several situations and most times it will be UTG when I want to smash some pots open.
- Straddles will not be allowed unless the entire table agrees to a round (ie, an orbit). None of this random "Im going to straddle" while the cards are being dealt thing.

I didn't think UTG had the option to act last preflop if he's bet in the dark.

Changed the time to start for 12pm, rather than 7pm. This way we won't be up all day Saturday and trying to do a 30h+ stretch. Much smarter this way.
