Tiffany Michelle Eliminated in 17th Place ($334,534)

Dennis Phillips raised to 500,000 from UTG, Peter Eastgate called and Tiffany Michelle called from the big blind. The flop was {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. Michelle checked, Phillips bet 1,000,000, Eastgate called and Michelle sat, propped up on her knees for about a minute before annoucing, "All in." She had about 3.8 million behind. Phillips folded and Eastgate called.

Eastgate {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}

Michelle {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}

Tiffany Michelle needed serious help. Her top pair needed running straight cards to beat Eastgate's set of aces. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Michelle was drawing dead. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Tiffany Michelle's Main Event run came to an end. She exited the stage in 17th place to a standing ovation.

Four Years In a Row?

As you may have seen in days past, there was some considerable buzz in the shoutbox and elsewhere regarding the probability of continuing the recent trend of "J named champions."

2005 - Joe Hachem
2006 - Jamie Gold
2007 - Jerry Yang

While there is obviously nothing more to this than pure coincidence, but those still clinging to the superstition and folklore of the trend are left with just one hope....Joe Bishop. Fortunately for them, he's our current leader with approximately 16.7 million chips.

David "Chino" Rheem Doubles Up

Chino Rheem raised to 325,000 from the cutoff and Chris Klodnicki reraised to 750,000 from the small blind. Rheem said, "You know I'm short and waiting for a hand..." and moved all in. Klodnicki called and his {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs} were racing against Chino's {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}.

Rheem caught a pair on the {4-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {Q-Spades} flop and when the board ran out {2-Clubs} {5-Spades} Rheem doubled up to 3.4 million.
