- You don't need to welcome everyone back all the time from a commercial. Just get back into it.
- If you're gonna talk about something, have a few more facts. A run down of the WSOP Nov 9 would've been cool, small bio on each player and their chip counts instead of your personal fav's.
- Personalised sign off? Keep shuffling, don't gamble the house away, etc.
- content, content, content. gotta give the people something each week/fortnight etc.

thanks for the comments. we definitely have more content for future episodes.

Maybe there is a chance to add other leagues later down the track? If this thing takes off, they might even pay you advertising rights to do so....... ;)
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

Can i make the suggestion that to stop the ums etc that you get yourself que cards and dot point all the things you want to say, it saves getting lost in a conversation and not remembering where you are up to. The ums and ahs only happen when your guessing or making up what your wanting to say just my 2cents worth

I think what would be good is some actual strategy segments specifically for pub poker tournaments. I know a lot of people consider pub poker a bit of a shove-and-giggle, but given your target audience for this (die-hard pub poker players) some strategy about what to do in certain situations in a pub poker game would be excellent.

Obviously you guys dont consider yourselves pro players, but you would definitely be 'experts' in a pub poker context, and well qualified to give advice to other pub poker players.

Some ideas could include:
- changing gears: getting more aggressive after the second break
- stack management: how to manage a short stack given that we have shallow stacks for the majority of the night (e.g. min raising is the new 3x, how to control pot size and save moneyz)
- how to play against complete novice players
- how to play against calling stations / hyper aggressive players
- should your play change on the final table?
- perhaps even a segment on intricate rules and etiquette

I think you guys have to be careful not to aim your podcast 'too high', given that it is for a pub poker market. Now, thats not a derogatory comment, but players interested in high level strategy already listen to the many poker podcasts that are out there, who are delivered by (no disrespect) better quality players (ie pros) compared to you guys.

What makes your show unique (as you said) is that it is aimed at pub poker players, and both of you are in an excellent position, and have more than enough knowledge to give advice to beginners through to intermediate players.

Hell, it would even be awesome to discuss situations, hands etc posted by pub poker players about situations that happened to them in the context of a pub poker structure. Setting some rules about giving some information about the other players on the table, stack size and position would be great. You could set up a section to post hands that may be discussed on your own website, or in a section on this forum.

Now thats nothing new in concept, as a lot of strategy podcasts do this already, but most hands in those podcasts dont really relate to pub poker given structures and level of opponents etc

For most pub-poker-level players it would be a real buzz to have you guys discuss one of their hands that they played discussed and critiqued. You are in a good position to even interview some of the players on their thoughts about a hand they might have played.

Anyway, just some ideas, really enjoyed the first episode, and look forward to more of it.
