Re: Dreamteam Update
No discussion at this point in time will change anything.
I have stated my reasonings, we have made our stance and we are not doing the one thing that everyone bitches about: changing the goal posts towards the end of the season.
If you want to be a member of the Dream Team then ensure that you play the larger tournament and shoot for bigger point hauls.
At the moment the whole competition is skewed, those that perform well in venues will never hit the top end of the Dream Team simply because of the online freeroll fields. And I am pretty sure there would be complaints about any weighting system put into place. Why does he get more points for a smaller field just because he/she plays in venue or pays an entry fee? I can hear it ringing in my ears already. But it will happen and I will do this to balance out the competition and weight in venue play far heavily than online, simply because of the volume of online tournaments that can be played.
I have never said that the DT Score Board is about rewarding consistency and I am not rehashing my arguments again nor will I get into another debate on this issue.
I am sure that if your top 5 spot wasn't in detriment then we wouldn't really be having this discussion again.
Poker is about discipline as well benny the cunt, I suggest if you want that top 5 spot then you time manger yourself (like i know one person in the top 10 is doing) set out your goals, work out what points you want and set up a schedule around your goals and stick it. But (and I am not being a smart arse here) sit down and talk with the better half and families and ensure you have their support in this campaign.
There are big dollars and experiences on offer so you need to work out some goals and step up in the professionalism and plan out what you need to do. I am not saying destroy your life or let poker take up 100% of your down time but setting serious goals and letting your partner and family now that it is an opportunity and just more than a hobby can be a big step forward in the support you need to hit your goals.
And if you can hit your goals in 888PL the big time is only one step away.

And you would be up there if you would get your ten away games under the belt.

Re: Dreamteam Update
Oh gees I can't wait for the website overhaul.
I guess we need to redefine consistency.
And I don't think you can measure consistency by saying that I make the final table 80% of time or anything like that. As field sizes vary.
In my eyes the weighting should be like this:
In Venue Challenge events - highest rating
In Venue Away events - second highest rating
Home Challenge events - mid rating
Home Foundation Event - Lowest rating
Online one off events < 200+ - No lower than this.
When I say rating I am stating the impact finishing highly has on the Dream Team Scoreboard.
I would also like to change the results system from average of the best 15 games to the combined average of 10 best in venue games and 20 best home games.

Re: Dreamteam Update
I would be first on the scoreboard if they only counted late $3 challenge games played on friday the 14th of August......

Bad news is that it won't happen next season. We are looking at 2010.
Any changes of this magnitude will actually be released via information pack (flier,etc.....) and website and we have decided any changes that are big to the competition need to be communicated properly and fairly and we need a six to eight week lead time on creating info packs, printing them and distributing to all players.
