seriously though, it just goes to show that you need to have things go right to win a tourney. scott could easily have 2 wins under the belt had things gone his way (instead of 2 4ths), and i could easily have a 5th placing instead of a first.

you obviously have to play well, but you do need luck (i reckon 3 times i got it in with a set vs a pair plus flush draw/straight draw and i held every time)

I was actually thinking about the two hands I had in both those finals - 88 and 99 - if they had been the other way around, I would have won both pots, and never looked back

Goes without saying that the races and such need to hold for you in tourneys like these. Not losing your shit when you lose one of them is just as crucial. Just ask Caleb about KK < Q10
