Have to agree krunchie, there's just not a lot you can do about that type of player - because they are that type of person.

If you and the TC's have done your best to explain that it doesn't just affect them, it affects everyone else at the table, and they still insist on not listening... there's other poker leagues for those people where integrity doesn't seem to matter.

And swipe some of their drink just to be a prick, you'll feel better :)
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

It is a business. And if I ran a business, I wouldn't want people breaking my rules.

gundog wrote:Common rule infractions are muck raking, rabbitting and folding out of turn, muck raking is my biggest concern because it can give information to astue players still in the hand, the other 2 I can live with.

So does mucking out of turn (give information, or change the play), thats why its not allowed.

If Im facing a bet with 3 players still to act, and Im not overly strong (say bottom pair, but good kicker), and I see 2 of them muck out of turn, Im more likely to call, then i hit 2 pair and the original bettor loses, cos he had me beat, and I would have folded if not for the guys who mucked out of turn. Not fair on him...
Atleast it shows what they don't have??

Also similar with rabbit hunting. everyone folds on the flop, but the T & R are shown and someone comments "crap, i would have hit the straight", they give away information (yes, own fault, but still...)

Also I find annoying is people not neccessarily declaring what they had folded that just hit the flop (although this has happened also), but just make a groan or whatever like "I just folded and hit hard!" or start whispering to the player beside them... Makes it obvious they hit the cards they folded.
Most players dont seem to notice, so those who do can capitalize on it, but its still wrong to do it. Once folded, dont say a thing until the hand is over...

It's probably worth noting that it has absolutely nothing to do with who is ok with what, or what they would be happy to let pass or not.

It's the same for everyone and there are reasons for it.

P.S. You made me lol, Jamo.

We had one last week just before final table. I wasn't on the table, but on the other next to it.

Standard betting till river, one better(other big stack), one caller(chip leader). At this point better pushes all in. The chip leader tanks and then throws card into the muck pile face up, without saying a word. Having ace high.
The original better then continually stated he heard call and kicked up a massive fuss. Unfortunatly 2 others on the table were friends of the better and kept saying they heard call aswell.

if he clearly said call, and more than one other person heard it, then its a call in my opinion.

Yes, the 888PL rules guide clearly states that verbal declarations are binding and override any action that may contradict them:

5. A verbal statement in turn denotes your action, is binding, and takes precedence over a differing physical action.

and in a defferent section:

6. A wager is not binding until the chips are actually released into the pot, unless the player has made a verbal statement of action.

7. If there is a discrepancy between a player’s verbal statement and the amount put into the pot, the bet will be corrected to the verbal statement.
