Re: WSOP News
So Sick
We finally found a flop worthy of the title of this post. Four players paid 3,200 to see a flop of {6-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}. Both blinds checked to the under-the-gun player, who bet 5,000. Jon Lane raised him to 15,000, only to see the small blind raise all in for 55,000 and the big blind call all in for close to the same. After the under-the-gun player folded, Lane called as well.
Small Blind: {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}
Big Blind: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}
Lane: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Top two for the small blind; middle set for the big blind; and top set for Lane. The turn and river bricked out, allowing Lane to eliminate two players and moved up the leaderboard to 233,000 chips.
Ohhhh.

Re: WSOP News
Sorry Guys
A player in middle position called before Jeff Madsen raised up to 6,400 from the cutoff. A player in the small blind then moved all in for 10,000 before the original limper also moved all in for 25,000. Madsen apologized to his two opponents as he called with 6s 5s. He was up against the small blind's Ks Qd and middle-position player's Ad Kh.
The board came 10c 4s 2h 3s Js. First Madsen hit a straight and then a flush to rub it in as he eliminates two players on his way to 200.000.
Warnie was up to 160k, above average, but has dropped down to about 80, so he'll need a double up soon.

Re: WSOP News
When Poker Becomes Unimportant
We have at least two unclaimed stacks in the room today, one of which belongs to Vimy Ha. His chips reside at Table Blue 16, but he has not touched them today, and it is now clear that they will be unused for the duration of the Main Event.
PokerNews received word today that Vimy's young niece and nephew, one and three years old, respectively, tragically drowned in their pool in Coppell, Texas yesterday evening. Vimy flew out from Las Vegas first thing this morning to be with his family, and he has not returned to play Day 3.
Vimy Ha's overnight chip count was 190,600, and right now there are still 99,100 of them in front of his empty chair. With each round of play costing 8,100 chips, it is actually feasible that Ha could cash despite his absence, though that is no matter to him at the present.
Every now and then, we receive an unfortunate reminder of what is really important in life, and poker is certainly not at the top of the list. PokerNews offers our sincerest condolences to Ha and his family.

Re: WSOP News
I just read that, how sad
The Comeback Continues
Karle Wilson, known far and wide for coming back from 60,300 to start the day, raises to 9,000 to start the hand, under the gun. Stefan Mattsson reraises to 32,300 in middle position. Wilson calls.
The flop is {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} and Wilson checks. Mattsson bets 25,000 and Wilson raises to 75,000. Wilson calls.
They check the turn and river of {5-Clubs}-x. Wilson turns over {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Mattsson turns over {A-?}{K-?}.
Wilson's hand wins and he climbs to 715,000 -- good for third in chips and not far from the chip lead. Mattsson falls to 201,000.

Re: WSOP News
Vimy Ha could still make the money. Hopefully people on his table will give him some walks in the BB.
