I just grabbed it from Dictionary.com.

You'd think they'd have an idea. Its not the most perfect meaning of irony. Comes across as sarcasm more than anything else.

I know, I've seen it there before when trying to explain to someone else the same thing.

It's either sarcasm, or a lack of listening. ie "I didn't h ear, so I'll just say something positive"

And don't get me started on Alanis Morissette... The only ironic thing about her song is that it's called Ironic.

This is an example of irony. End of story.

Sarcasm and irony often go hand in hand. Whomever came up with the line "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" ought to be punched in the face.
