I knew were I went wrong and wasn't as patient as I should have been but I gave it a shot. I was really proud of the 2 guys from Bendigo that made final table though as they did an awesome job. Just hoping that one of these times it will be them watching me

there is no better feeling than going on a huge heater!

on the weekend that i won states, i also finished third in one of the side events for $550. in both of the tourneys, i felt like i could do no wrong, every read was correct, i won every flip, every time i hit a set i stacked an overpair.
nothing like it
/brag
Yeah, I was on the end of one of your hands that w/e mate. I was short stacked in SB and you naturally raised to pressure me out of the hand. I had 99 and you had carp off suit but that didn't stop you hitting 2 pair on flop... bye bye Larxy lol. I knew you were in for a good day

I didn't expect you to remember it but I DO !!! lol
I was knocked out around 45th ... it was the final.
You definately need a little luck every now and then to run deep but you also need to take advantage of any run like god experiences too.

this is true
run-like-godaments also extend to not getting coolered as well.
in the first grand final, i thought i played much better than i did on that semi final weekend, but late on day 1 i ran my KK into AA and that knocked me back to an average stack, and eventually out in 40th, 13 or so places from the cash. if he had QQ instead and i won, i would have been close to the chip lead and prolly would have cashed.
so yeah you have to get lucky in a lot of ways.
