Your question was the question I was asking, and to be quite honest, yes the way I get eliminated from a tournament means a lot to me and would mean even more on the FT of a major event especially the WSOP ME.
I suggest you watch the FT to fully comprehend what I am talking about, it makes even more of an impact when you watch the whole series in one day and go on the journey with these guys from start to stop.
See I look at it that I would never want to go out by being outplayed or commiting my chips with the worst hand, but the thought of been sucked out on when I am a four to 1 favourite is just terrifying in my mind.
Although in saying the above, I have had a big hand on a major FT when my AA vs JJ with 5 left and he hits a J to leave me with 2 BB's and crippled. That was a funny hand, and by then I was exhausted, very pleased with my effort and I was like "meh, that's poker, I've ran so good all tournament and haven't made one mistake, so I guess the only way they were going to beat me was that they needed to get lucky!"
