Re: The biggest pot I have won at 10NL
Most of you guys posting on here, should be playing at higher levels (i should say "more expensive" levels) , as its just richer idiots, they aren't better players, although you will come across the best.
Don't have the bankroll you say?
Non-sense. If you are trying to make money playing poker, and you play a hand at 50c/1.00 different to how you would play it at $10/$20, then how can you always be playing optimum poker?
People lose money because they say, "oh, its only $5, i'm gonna call". Would they make the call if it were $5000? or $50,000? or $500,000? The answer should always be the same.
I regularly cash-out each quarter, because of the AUD swings. Last December i cashed out $10k US and got $13.5k AUD. If i cash out the same $10k now i get about $10,800 or so. Thats a HUGE difference!
The point i am trying to make is that i put $100 AUD ($90 US)into my Stars account last Saturday and im currently at $2319 US - without playing any cash tables except for the 5c/10ce i played with you guys.
I'm not giving away any secrets as to how or what i've been playing, its taken over 5 years for me of playing on-line to find what suits ME best, its different for everyone.
Eg. Time is Money.
I used to play 9 players SNG's but the money i'd make for 1st, 2nd or 3rd didnt equate to the time i spent playing them.
eg.
$20 buy-in + $2 rake, time spent getting 1st ($90) = 1-2 hrs. Profit $68 for 2 hrs work IF SUCCESSFUL
as opposed to $104 buy-in double or nothing.
You only play down to five, on a table of 10, so a lot of time spent heads-up, 3-way and 4-way bubble play doesnt occur.
Takes between 30mins and 1hr and profit is $96
So i look at what is WORTH IT for me. But i guess the point i'm trying to make is, dont worry too much about not having enough in your bankroll to tackle the bigger games, bigger risk = bigger reward.
If you have the confidence in your skills, STEP-UP!

Most banks aren't going to give a 1k to someone who has been working for 2 weeks for the purpose of playing online poker
Unless the BankOfBennyMacca is open
