to all you guys on the forum - my brother matt, aaron, dave, scott, garth, matty norwood, pete, des, brett, troy and krunchie, for discussing poker non stop with me, and definitely improving my game. (especially matt and garth and aaron, who regularly tell me when i am playing shit)

when i first started frequenting this forum, i was the biggest lagtard poker player ever, and with your help, i have turned into a standard lagtard instead of a massive one

so all you guys really are part of this win, because i wouldn't have improved my game at all without you guys.

to the rest of the forum guys - des, bacon, rcon, muzz, bob (yes, even you bob), bruce (yes, even you too bruce ), steve, jamo, nathan, tim and others, thanks for making this forum awesome and making me think about poker most of the bloody day! also, i think it was bacon that coined the term bennyjam - thanks mate, that image gets me PAIIIIIIID!!!!

thanks to garth and tim for making NPL and 888pl really fun to play, and for allowing social but serious players such as myself a chance at winning some decent money out of it, and just as importantly setting up different poker experiences such as big finals, terminator tourneys, deepstacks, 2 day events etc.

thanks to matty norwood, darren, tom, dakota, and shannon for being awesome TDs and most importantly awesome people. you guys make the games welcoming and fun, but obviously professional, and the reason why the games are so fun.

NPL/888pl is BY FAR the best pub poker league in the state, and i am not just saying that because i have not won the main event. i have tried most other leagues, lured by offers of better structures, cash buyin games (initially) and other things. but even after all this, i keep coming back to play 888pl every time because of 3 reasons. first, its FUN, secondly, there are regular bigger tournaments to qualify for, and thirdly and most importantly, there is a community of players that are not only good players, but also awesome people.

lastly i want to thank chereen for letting me out to play a game once a week (tee hee ), and for knowing and loving the fact that i am a massive poker nerd. she will have a great time spending all of my winnings . seriously, i love you and thanks for everything

as for what i am going to do with the little bit left over, i have already bought a new 24" monitor to go alongside my 22" (multitabling ftw), and the rest will probably go on the renovations we have planned. i am also going to put $500 aside for a buyin for the grand final, should i fail to RLA in the next few weeks and satellite my way in.

if i have missed anyone, then sucked in, i hate you. nah seriously, thanks as well.

to be honest, i think so man

because i was raising a lot of pots, i had to fold to aggression a lot of the time on the flop

and i really do think the biggest hand for me was when i turned 2 pair against an already better 2 pair, with about 13 players remaining.

on the river, all of the flush and straight outs came in.

usually, i would go - he might not have the flush, he prolly has 2 pair or a set, thats a perfect card for him to fold, and i would have shipped it.

but this time, i actually showed respect for the player for being in this pot up to this far.

i didn't think that there was too much that i was beating here, but i still had 2 pair after all, so its decent showdown equity against top pair type hands that were always checking behind here. so i checked, and lost a 200K pot, but i still had 175K left.
