When I got eliminated I just couldn't stop thinking that if there was one person left who I think really just flat out deserved to win it then it would be benny the cunt and truth be told I could have easily handled coming 2nd to him should it have come to that.

benny the cunt has been on absolute fire recently, such an amazing run of form.

He had a stack ALL day and has clearly demonstrated that it was skill and not luck (except for the odd slice) that got him the win.

Well done again mate, I'm absolutely phucking stoked for you!






The tournament itself was a dream structure for the likes of benny the cunt and myself. Decent sized starting stack and 30 minute blind levels that didn't rise sharply, antes that weren't too severe and came in a little bit later than previously. All gave a good formula to let a players poker ability do more of the talking. It was a pleasure to play in and has got me hungry again! Magnificently well run as always and I REALLY liked how Garth was wandering around with his clipboard taking notes of big hands and keeping up to date with how we were all doing for the updates - very nice touch indeed.

Thanks to those who came and railed me at various stages, was really appreciated.

Garth, I just finished reading this thread from where I left it last night (had family over). I must say you have excelled to another level with your blow for blow reporting of the final table. You have added another string to your bow Garth, well done.

Your reporting of the final table made me feel like I was actually there and felt the emptiness of those who committed themselves to the card gods each time the cards were turned and they were eliminated one by one.

To the "Mighty benny the cunt" I sincerely congratulate you not only for your fairy tale weekend that one can only dream of happening but also your support that you have offered to us here on the forum. Well done benny the cunt, well done.

Ok, serious post now.

I've known benny the cunt a little while after NPL began. My mates and I started playing at the Old Spot in Gawler. He was actually on my table in the first few weeks of play. He took a pot, after pot, after pot off me pretty early on and I remember thinking - for a few minutes, he was a bit of a tool

Then I actually got to know the man. And I'm damn glad I did.

Through the forums, and regular weekly games, benny the cunt and I got to know one another. We would chat about NPL, poker, and what was going on with our lives. Basically, we became good mates. I'd attend benny the cunt's home games, and he'd pop down now and then into my shed.

So that was like a year ago. Over that time, I've watched benny the cunt develop into a great player - someone I respected, and enjoyed discussing hands with. I believe you're only able to properly talk out hands/situations with someone that is better than you (ie: has some good advice) and benny the cunt was always great for that. We helped each others games IMMENSELY talking about poker, reading 2+2, etc.

Railing him yesterday... I'm not surprised that he TID. Right off the bat, he had control of his table. As Muzz said somewhere, he had just the right mix of aggression to pick up pots, and still get paid on his monster hands. Watching benny the cunt go deep, and reading back his posts, its clear to everyone that he definitely had the skill to win, and didn't just luckbox his way into it (case cards, ftw, however).

benny the cunt, I'm still super fucking happy for you. AWESOME tourny mate, you played exceptionally well.

Also, I echo everyone's sentiments that it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. You handled yourself with class and dignity throughout the entire tournament (that deuce turn nonwithstanding ).

yeah good call toddy. im 90% proud but 10% insanely jealous.

Bragging rights are massively important as a twin. and i have lost them for a fair while as far as poker in concerned (before this i had won way more tourneys and a regional title as well as a states cash).

But im soooooooo okay with giving up bragging rights over this one. he bloody well deserved them, cos, and this is quite hard to say, and benny the cunt please dont use this as your sig, but benny the cunt is the better player. i have some work to do.
