You do realise there are 2 (two) JHDS per year now right?

One in March and the other in October?

Thought i may contribute to this thread.

2009 has been a huge year for me poker wise,
I started the year back in early Jan winning my first ever 888pl ( then npl ) tourney after 12 months of trying then backed it up with a second win less than a week later.
I since have won 2 more so im reasonably happy with 4 tourney wins for the year.
January was also the Month that Mackatack and I ran our fist and so far only Deepstack event that attracted a croud of over 20 punters and turned out to be a brilliant day.
Some of the other acheivements for me this year included 2 final tables in Riverland Regional Finals, a 6th and a 4th (both times the cash bubble :( )
Also qualifying for state finals for my 6th time and finaly having a deep run (50th), which was the catalyst for bigger things to come.

Obviously the highlight for the season and by a long way was the 888pl Grandfinal at which i ran 16th for $1100, so far this is my biggest cash and has given me a great deal of confidence in my game, particularly that i belive i am better suited to the larger/deeper tournaments.

Outside of Results this year has been a great one for strenghthening my friendships within the 888pl community, Particularly the Macdonald brothers but also the rest of the boys such as DAVE ( didnt forget you this time mate), AK, Rcon, Scott, Muzz, old man Swanky, Bigpete, Garth, Brett, Trishan, toddy and Gundog ( yes even gundog :D ), i loved the opportunity to catch up with all you blokes and i hope this occurs in future.

As for goals for 2010, a minimum 4 tourney wins would have to be a good start as i always look to improve each year.
Qualified for both state finals in Jan so I guess making a deep run in that would be Paramount as well as making the finals again later in the year, And qualifying for a second Grandfinal would be great as well.

All in all 2009 was a great one and im looking foward to all the 888pl changes Garth and Co have in store for us in the new year.

Have a great christmas and new year and i hope to see you on the tables

Krunch
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

No Krunch love.

My goal this year is to study more (read: a) books, stop being a calling station, and enjoy my game.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

and see Tiger again in his triumphant return :D

would be nice to spend 25-30 hours at the tables and maybe come out up more than the costs of my meals/taxis ;-)

My 2010 goals.

My first goal is forum related;

And that is to try and do a short post and still say what I want to say if you get my drift. ;) Can't see it happning at the moment LOL.

Now as far as my poker goals are concerned they are fairly simple.

Reading Poker related books etc, is a no, no. I find it very difficult to stay awake when I start reading anything let alone Poker Books.

My simplest wants for 2010 would be to enjoy playing poker, improve on my results within the 888PL group and meet some new people and play some small buyin tourneys.

I'd love to play some big cash games but the thought of going back to my old gambling ways when the Casino first opened no longer exist.

I had some really big wins in my time but the big wins also attracted big losses. My cash flow these days limits my outlay and if I can't afford to lose it I won't play.

The beauty of poker is that you can join a table for as little as $50 and play for hours to get your fix.

Like I said before, my goals are fairly simple and in poker even the worst players can beat the guys who have read all the books, studied the percentages, the variances, the body languages, etc, etc.

Once your monies in the pot it's really up to the poker gods unless you've got the nuts or the balls to play any 2 cards like they are the nuts. :o

I'm really gonna try and do a short post one day, really I will you wait and see.

Thanks Scotty, and good luck to you in 2010 M8.

I was just going over my thoughts relating to the 2009 seasons and realised we didn't have a rerun of our "FORUM GAME" this year.

Bugga!!! That was a good days entertainment too.

ok, reflections for the year.

2009 was a pretty awesome year for me, especially on the 888pl front. in all forms of poker, i ended nearly 13k in the black - enough to pay for most of our current house renovations, which i am pumped about.

Online, i think my year wasn't as good as i had hoped. in the last few months, i moved up a couple of levels, and i still feel comfortable at those levels, which is great. but my good days always seem to be followed by a bad day. Tilt still consumes me much more than it should. especially when i am playing heads up cash games

My goals for the next year:
Find ways to decrease my variance by tilting less.
Read a book on heads up cash games - i really like these, but i still feel i have a lot to learn.
Advance to the stage where i am playing 100NL regularly.
Build my bankroll and use it to finance an overseas trip in 2011. (ultimate goal)

We should organise a forum trip to Macau. Cheaper air tickets and you will get an experience close enough to Vegas.
