bruce, probably the prize club software would be the best - you can have private games on there as well.

thirdly, this has been done before, organised by des, and it was hard for people to organise their games

so unless there are strict time limits to when games will be played, it wont work.

next, i dont think team play etc is really necessary - just having a heads up tourney online would be good enough if u wanted to organise it.

so bruce,if you wanted to organise it, then go right ahead, i will definitely play

looks like u and me m8 winner takes on whoever plays AK and wins

shall start the web/blog re vamp accordingly

Its not impossible to host a live event at each venue, lateral thinking is required and a desire to make it happen.

simpily put

Venue/Regional heads up championship
During the season a heads up event to determine the venue heads up champion, the top 2 from each venue play off for to be regional championship.
Registration as a player is registered they draw a 1 of 4 Aces this determines the suit or division the play in then they draw a number to determine the playing position.
Ie. I register I draw the Ace of Heats and the number 7 therefore I am drawn to play player 8 in the Heart Division
The number of available seats in each venue is limited to highest average number of players from the previous season, players can only register a venue at which the played the previous season.
The 1st round must be completed by week 4, players can play their heads up match before or after the normal NPL game as long as they have a dealer ie. I am drawn to play Krunchie we decide to play our match before the game and we arrange for a dealer if the match is not concluded prior to the commencement of the normal game it will resume as soon as both players are knocked out etc.
1st round players commence with a 1000 chip stack and players carry their winning chip stacks through to the next round and subsequent rounds.
Blind levels.
Round 1 25/50
Round 2 50/100 Ante 50
Round 3 100/200 Ante 100
Round 4 200/400 Ante 200
Round 5 500/1000 Ante 500
Round 6 1000/2000 Ante 1000

Dude...its HEADS UP! No need for Antes lol

It's basically making the blinds 100/150, 200/300 etc.

Should be like this. You do not wanna make it a crap shoot. Heads up is still a game of skill... it isnt keno as most players tend to believe.
25/50
50/100
100/200
200/400
300/600
500/1000
1000/2000

i think an online heads up game would be awesome, best out of 3 then move on to the next opponent or bow out

i reckon a set time in the day, say like a sunday afternoon would be great, allow people to be on the forum and post bragging rights etc

it would also be good to see some staff member play as well

Keep in mind we did try this... but it was taking 2 weeks to get a round of like 8 matches completed. It can be done, but everyone has to be really pushing to get their games played, instead of just fcuking around and not really caring.

everyone knew everyone back then too mate

its just a fact that people work during the day, play poker at night... i used to play tues, wed, thurs, someone else plays mon and fri, and sun. It's just a scheduling nightmare thats all.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it happen, just pointing out how hard it is to organise.

true steve - des and i had a big argument over the heads up game because i said it was for shits and giggles, but i didn't mean it as bad as it sounded.

i hadn't met des, and i thought he was a tool back then

oh wait.... :D

nah i think it will work a lot better this time, although des is right, it will still be hard to organise.

i think if every games needs to have a single time organised within a week, if not then both players get disqualified, and its a coinflip to see which one of the respective losers of the previous round goes through instead

Whats the fixation with having a heads up online why not live.

Des

Dude...its HEADS UP! No need for Antes lol

I'm fairly sure that the heads up championship I was watching on ESPN the players poster blinds as well as ante's.

Ah back on track,

I would rather play a heads up live than on line its better to see the whites of their eyes and the juglar vein pumping than a countdown timer.

So you run an On-Line NPLForum Heads Up Championship at the end of the day what will it mean? you won or lost against a faceless individual, ah web cams could solve the faceless part.

Whats wrong with a venue based comp leading to a regional championship and ultimatly a state heads up champion, if we provide a strong enough case Garth might find some cash n the cookie jar for the state final !
