Possibly the strangest move ever...

Postby AceLosesKing » Fri Jan 23, 2009 3:34 pm

So last night at the Royal, I'm sitting next to a guy who seems to be your average NPLer - there for the fun, plays any two pictures, etc. Nothing out the ordinary until we get into the 3rd break.

Blinds 500/1000. I was off the table at the time, but this is what I was told. Our friend limps UTG for 1k with KK. Folded to behind the button who shoves for 8k. Folds back around to UTG, who open mucks KK face up. The table goes into hysterics, and behind the button sheepishly shows AK.

When I asked the bloke why he laid down KK preflop, his reply was classic:

"I just don't like em mate."

Each to their own, I guess :P

I've seen something similar to that before at the Kentish. Last hand of the break, someone had KK. 2 all-ins and he folded, saying that they were sure to have Ace rag and they would hit their Ace.

I think by saying "em", he was referring to his cards (KK), not the person who went all-in
