running bad today

Postby Chelsea4thewin » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:31 pm

what a terrible day of online poker for me, cant seem to get a break

finally start to do well in a tourney, $3 KO 90man SNG, chip leader for most of the tourney until late where im 6th with 16 left

A, 6 on the button folded to me, 3x bet, bb calls

flop A,6,2, i got all in for my 8k remaining, BB insta-calls and rolls over pocket 3's, turn junk, river 3

really sums up my day

whats the best thing to do on days like this? walk away until u have a clear mind? just so sick some of the beats ive had today

Shrug look at the screen go it was the call i wanted. Shit happens and continue on.

If i posted all my beats, god help me, take it as a learning experience.

Seeing pocket 8's getting smashed by AK on a board that runs out, 7 A A, 8, A. Never fun.

I say this too often, but you have to learn how to embrace the variance, i am in a $300 downswing at the moment. I even lost the christmas cracked flip on Christmas Day. One in each hand i lost both. I run goot.

Today at the cas:

[Ac] [kd] on the button. UTG 4xBB raise, i flat call.
Flop:
[kc 9d 3s]
He checks, i bet, he pushes, i call. He barely has me covered.
Turn:
[Ah]
River:
[7d]

He smirks and rolls [7c 7h].

Rebuy and very next hand get [qd qh]

I raise 5xbb, get 3 callers.
Flop:
[ad qc 4s]
First to act bets. I flat, so does the third player.
Turn:
[ac]
First to act bets. I re-raise. 3rd folds and 1st pushes. I insta-call and he rolls [as 5s].
River:
[ah]

Don't you just love this stupid fucking game?

Running bad today, Steve. Might be different tomorrow.

Edit: It will be different tomorrow. Poker isn't a constant string of bad beats/excellent runs. Like Brett said, variance is a b*tch.
