Turning over only one card and betting poorly.......

Sorry if this has been whinged about and i havent read it before...........
BUT,,, whats the story with players still only turning over one card when it is time to show their cards......

Example::::::The community cards are..

and he or she is holding a

but only shows their king and keeps the ace face down

I know Garth is going to say speak up at the tables but writing it here is still a good place to educate....
It takes two cards to win....

Is it classed as a fold / muck if you only show one card??



and on a whinging matter,,,,,
People,,,, stop throwing in one chip without a verbal and expecting it to be a raise,,,,, Example.....
The betting is at 200chips,,, and then someone throws in a 500chip without saying anything and everyone including the better assumes he has raised to 500.......
If you havent said anything on a single chip bet it only matches the previous persons bet......
The other night betting was at 400chips and another player to my right throws in a single 1000chip,,,,, so me not wanting to bet 1000,,, i throw in 400 and say call...........
And of course i didnt win that discussion at the table...

We are in our 3rd season..... and so was the person and persons involved...

I think a lot of these issues just come from simple poker etiquette.

Have respect for the game, will get respect from the players and cards later.

However a lot of issues stem from what people have seen on TV.

One card being shown because the other person folded to a river bet.

Chips being splashed in "Rounders," Even he says "Don't splash the pot"

My personal gripe at the moment. "Bulldozer" Fark you Hevad Khan. Or the people that feel they need to imitate the players they see, how many people wear sunnies and a hoodie to look like Phil Laak, or spend two minutes staring you down like Phil Ivey, or the ones that run the mouth off after a beat a la Hellmuth and Matusow.

Its a turbo tournament, staring down for two minutes and folding is pointless. Wastes time, and you are not that good to reconstruct the hand and put a person on a hand. Because you have not played enough hands with them over the course of 2-5 days to see enough showdowns and work out their range.

Find you own game, and play it your way.

You didn't win that arguement? You should have! If they weren't listening to you, then you have to get the TD over. It's why they're there.

As much as I dislike people not declaring their bet I have started to get used to it, will call and put out the required amount to call and then argue the point if they try and say it was a raise in order to try to tilt them a little Even better in your circumstance, moreso if you actually had a hand, would have been to say raise and put out a a single 1k chip just to confuse them

Ok at showdown, both cards must be exposed to win the pot. Can't stress that enough, if the player refuses to open the other card their hand is declared dead and the pot is awarded to the next best hand.
If he rolls the winning card over and throws his other hole card facedown into the muck then the hand is declared dead and the pot awarded to the next best hand.
Generally we just say tow cards to win and there isn't a problem.

Now in regards to overchips: It is always a call unless you declare aise, unless you are first to speak post flop. There is no preceeeding bet so the majortiy of the time you could take the overchip to then become the standing bet, that is the only time any confusion should arise from throwing in an overchip, any other time (without a verbal declaration) the bet remains the minimum or just a call.

I was pulled up the another night on this issue. Garth is correct of course , but if you win the pot on the flop, turn, river or even preflop, because everyone else folded, you can show 1 card only to the table. My famous saying is pay to see. I love showing one card that didn't hit the flop, making my table question themselfs about it.

Again Garth is right, if you are called, just rolled them both over guys/gals

Yeah,,, with the amount of times you play,,, you will end up with 2000points without even hitting a place....
Green is worth 448grams.... Dumkoff....lol.
